Most courses are able to offer a simple definition for the subject matter under scrutiny. But leadership does not lend itself to one simple and constant definition. We can observe that there is a constant desire for more and better leadership but how exactly should we realize that desire? Should we study history’s so-called “great people” or “heroes” in order to gain insight into what set these individuals apart? Should we study personality traits and attempt to isolate traits that are more often than not present within a set of people identified as leaders? Should we study leadership style/s or focus on specific situations and the optimal responses to those same scenarios? Is there a difference between leadership and management, and, if so, what difference does the difference make? How will you "brand" yourself as a leader?
